Terry Shevlin is a 'Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist' working within a 'Sensorimotor Psychotherapy' model. This approach honours the wisdom and role of our body in relation to our mental health and well-being. It encourages a mindful and compassionate curiosity about how our body participates in stuck patterns of trauma or emotional unhappiness, and then seeks to create different experiences e.g. a slumped or collapsed body posture often goes with low moods or depression. Sensitively becoming aware of how our body participates can help to create different possibilities for life and the underlying beliefs we hold.
Terry's professional qualifications and associations include:
MSc Counselling (UUJ), BSc Hons (Univ Portsmouth), Dip Counselling (CPCAB), Dip Supervision (CPCAB), Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor (Groups and Individuals) BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy). EMDR Pt 1 and 2 training. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1 and 2 training. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 3 Certified.
